Laser skin resurfacing uses focused laser energy to target the skin’s surface layers. The laser either removes damaged skin cells or stimulates deeper layers to encourage collagen production. This process improves skin texture, reduces wrinkles, minimizes scars, and evens out pigmentation.
There are two main types of laser resurfacing. Ablative lasers remove the outer layers of skin, promoting the growth of new, healthier skin and stimulating collagen production beneath the surface. Non-ablative lasers, on the other hand, don’t remove the outer skin but heat deeper layers, encouraging collagen production and tightening the skin.
